We exist to make moral rehabilitation real in the lives of every inmate in America.

Equipping inmates students serving long sentences (15+ years) to be agents of change within the prison walls.

We do this through establishing higher education within a prison.

Using the Prison Seminary/Bible College Model, moral rehabilitation becomes a reality. With the expertise of the Prison Seminaries Foundation (PSF) and in partnership with an accredited school, a satellite extension for higher education is established within a prison. The program offers:

  • An accredited degree from a Department of Education recognized institution,

  • The same curriculum available to students outside the prison system,

  • Teaching by tenured professors,

  • Availability to all inmates who are interested, and

  • Funding provided by private donors (no tax dollars or government funds are used).

This four-year educational experience is framed in a spirit of servanthood. In addition to general courses, students receive education in:

  • Theology,

  • Leadership,

  • Conflict resolution,

  • Counseling

  • Grief and trauma support, and

  • Peer-to-peer ministry development.

The Prison Seminary Model can change the culture inside a prison setting.

As inmates become students who take on the role of peer ministers, the effects of “moral rehabilitation” spreads throughout the general population.

Making Moral Rehabilitation Real can have a lasting impact both within and outside the prison walls.

We provide step-by-step assistance to the key players in any state seeking to implement the Prison Seminary Model.  PSF hosts a professional symposium every year where seminary directors, correction professionals, government officials and interested attendees can learn through best practices forums, professional presentation and open dialogue.  This annual meeting also provides updated research on the development and progress of both men’s and women’s programs. Using the Prison Seminary Model results in safer prisons and fewer victims of violent crime.
